The team at Sapori D'Italia made our travel adventures a once in a lifetime experience. Our daughter did the initial research and outreach. From there Beatrice was extremely patient in helping us decide who in our group of 5 (from varied ages from 26 to 61 and at different levels of fitness) would be able to participate in climbing Via Ferrata Picasass in Baveno and canyoning in the Ossola Valley. After much consideration we were all in and it was worth the constant communication and detailed information that allowed us to make an informed decision.

Beatrice arranged the adventures on two different days and also arranged the transport which was super helpful. Our first adventure was the Via Ferrata overlooking the bay of the Borromeo Isles of Lake Maggiore. I cannot give enough praise to our accomplished, considerate and expert tour guides Georgio and Christina. They knew the route well and understood how to coach each of as we climbed the exposed mountain. Since we were all at different skills levels, it required a lot of work on their part which was much appreciated. It was my first time undertaking such a climb and I was both nervous and excited. The climb is strenuous and takes a good 1 1/2 hour. We were a bit longer than most, yet Georgio and Christina were always there to provide support. It was worth the challenge as we did it as a team supporting each other, and overlooking the amazing views from various points on the climb. Reaching the peak of Monte Camosco was a joyful moment and we all enjoyed an immense sense of accomplishment.

Alpine canyoning in Ossola Valley was so much fun. An adventure in wetsuit and canyoning gear of climbing, jumping into to cool craters formed by the canyon and making our way down waterfalls was a blast. Again, Georgio and Christina were outstanding guides. Always focused on safety, they understood each of our skill levels after spending time with us on the Via Ferrata and that enabled them to provide more detailed support on our second adventure. The rocks are slippery and care must be taken to be safe. We had the perfect guides to help us both be safe and have fun. And thanks to Georgio and Christina for the thoughtful loan of waterproof cases for cell phones we have amazing photos to cherish the memories.

If you are looking for some adventure when traveling to the Lake Maggiore region, I highly recommend Sapori D'Italia. The team balanced thoughtful communication with attention to safety detail that resulted in once in a lifetime experiences.

Appalling customer service. I hired an electric mountain bike as part of a group of three guys on a very special cycle to Mottarone, all experienced cyclists. My battery died near the peak and I had to turn back. The other bikes had nearly full charge and we had all used the same settings. Obviously defective battery on the bike which was dangerous as we were in a remote area. When I returned to Sapori D'Italia and explained the situation, they admitted they had some similar problems before. When I looked for a full refund, as the whole day was spoiled for all of us, the boss said it was my fault as I had used the wrong power setting which was totally incorrect. They gave my €24.50 refund back from the €150 we paid! The boss was very disrespectful to me and obviously does not value his businesses' reputation. I would not hire here again as you can't trust or rely on their bikes. The staff were very nice but not the boss. Avoid!!

Mountain bike rental for 22€ per day.
Very kind staff which serves as a go between for bike shop across the street. Bike shop offers guided excursion at 90€ for up to a group of 6 - this does not include bike rental.
Overall, I would recommend that you visit the bike rental shop at the base of the funiculaire whom are the true masters of VTT/MTB in the region. They will set you up with maps and smartphone applications which are very helpful.
